You'll often hear people refer to a medium as a “clairvoyant”. Some might even use the word “clairvoyant” instead of the word medium. However, these are two separate things. And when working with mediumship it is important to know the difference between the two.
A clairvoyant medium is able to communicate with the spirit world by using the sense of seeing. This does not necessarily mean that the clairvoyant medium sees the spirits with his or her physical eyes. Instead, a clairvoyant medium sees the spirit world with his or her “inner eye” or “third eye”. It can occur in many ways. It’s important to remember that all mediums are different. And it is rare for two mediums to work or develop in the exact same way. A medium is a person that is able to communicate with the spirit world. Clairvoyance is one of many ways in which the medium can communicate with the spirits. The word means “clear seeing”. If the medium is clairvoyant, it means that he or she talks to the spirit world by using sight, in one way or the other. Not all mediums use their clairvoyance. In fact, all mediums have their own ways of communicating, and it does not have to be through the clairvoyant sense. Some mediums use their clairaudience, which means that they “hear” the spirit world. Others are clairgustient, which means that they “taste” the spirit world. In this blog we will look closer at clairvoyance. Some mediums use colours when they are connecting for a reading. They might, for instance, see the colour blue while communicating with a spirit. Colors can mean different things for different mediums. The colour blue might mean calmness for some, indicating that the spirit coming through might have been a very calm person or it might stand for communication for some, meaning that the spirit was a calm person. Some mediums are able to see short movies in their mind. They might be able to see whole memories from the spirit being played in their mind. As with pictures, movies are also put together by the clairvoyant mediums own mental images and memories. Like all types of mediums, a clairvoyant does not automatically mean that you are spiritually enlightened. Some people expect all mediums to be kind, loving, and joyful people, all with a loving intention. This is not the case. Clairvoyants, as with all mediums, are able to do what they do, without being spiritually enlightened. Most good mediumship teachers will teach their students that they will need to work on themselves, before they start to help others. A medium that is not in contact with themselves will easily become subjective in a reading, drawing conclusions from their own experience and issues. This can sometimes have serious consequences as they mislead their sitters. A medium that is spiritually developed and balanced will find it easier to do readings that are accurate. They will not have to hesitate when it comes to what is true and not. They will simply know, or feel it. They will often also have the ability to “feel” what their clients need. The way different clairvoyant mediums “see” things can vary greatly. Some clairvoyants read. They might get a word, or many words, spelled out in their mind. Others just see parts of images, and are then able to paste these together, in order for it to make sense. For people that are working on developing themselves spiritually, clairvoyance and many other types of mediumship often come with it as these skills are a part of who we truly are. Most spiritually developed mediumship teachers will agree that this is the best way of developing, as it will lead to more accurate readings made out of love and truth. Giving a good reading means enlightment, love, respect and experience.
